The wood for your project is reclaimed by John himself, who’s sources include some of the oldest farmhouses, barns, and mill buildings in the northeast. Each piece of wood is hand-picked, studied, and categorized by what it can create, just waiting for its time to shine again. Once your project wood is selected, it’s time to get to work.

John crafts all projects at his studio, part of Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford, MA. He works with clients from start to finish, inviting you to share in his passion and process with regular updates and photos. Finishes are hand rubbed, hand painted, and perfectly distressed in keeping with the appearance of old world craftsmanship.

As the project nears completion, details are finalized with you and your space in mind. In the case of tables, for example, clients are invited to the studio to “sit” at the table, allowing John to determine and customize the most comfortable height.

Unlike his competitors, John’s work is all hand-made, with no mass-produced parts. For specialty elements, he works with other local artisans and craftsman, relationships developed over decades, to ensure items are in harmony with the design and of the highest quality.

On completion, John will personally deliver and install your piece, making any adjustments, as needed, to ensure the best fit.
